When you upload a PDF or image to use a tool — for example Compress PDF, Sign PDF, or Image Compressor — the file is transferred to our server solely to perform the requested operation.

• Files are stored temporarily in tool-specific /storage folders on our hosting server.
• Files are processed only to complete the specific conversion, compression, signing or editing action you requested.
• An automated cleanup job runs regularly and permanently deletes all uploaded files and generated output files within 5 minutes of processing.
• We do not read, analyse, index, copy or use the content of your files for any purpose beyond performing the tool operation.
• We do not share your files with advertisers, data brokers, other users, or any third party.
• We do not send your files to external conversion APIs or third-party cloud services — all processing is done within our own hosting environment.

Given the short retention period and the nature of the service, we strongly recommend not uploading files containing highly sensitive personal data, regulated health or financial information, or legally privileged documents to any online converter, including ConvertFree.net.

3. Log Data & Technical Information

When you visit ConvertFree.net, standard web server logs may automatically record certain technical information, including your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and the date and time of each request. This information is used exclusively to maintain site security, monitor server performance, diagnose errors and investigate abuse. We do not sell or share server log data.

4. Cookies & Analytics

ConvertFree.net uses cookies and similar browser storage technologies for the following purposes:

• Preference storage: Remembering your light/dark theme selection between visits.
• Usage analytics: Understanding aggregate patterns of how the site is used via Google Analytics (see section 6).
• Advertising: Serving and measuring relevant ads via Google AdSense (see section 5).

This data helps us improve the site and prioritise new tool development. Google Analytics data does not identify individual users and is not linked to the files you upload.

7. Data Retention Summary

• Uploaded files & outputs: Deleted within 5 minutes of processing
• Web server logs: Retained up to 30 days for security and debugging
• Analytics data: Retained per Google Analytics default settings (14 months)
• Preference cookies: Retained per your browser's cookie settings (typically session or 1 year)

8. Third-Party Services

ConvertFree.net integrates with the following third-party services, each of which may process limited information about your visit according to their own privacy policies:

• Google Analytics (analytics.google.com) — aggregated usage analytics
• Google AdSense (adsense.google.com) — advertising display and measurement
• Our hosting provider — server infrastructure within which all file processing occurs; your files do not leave this environment

Because we retain almost no personal data beyond anonymised analytics and short-lived server logs — and we retain no file content at all after 5 minutes — most data rights requests can be resolved quickly. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the site, new tools, new third-party integrations or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows the most recent revision. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
